Abstract

Simulation of the refractive-index sensitivity of nanoporous leaky waveguide resonance sensors based on waveguide theorey combined with Fresnel equations reveals an extraordinary feature, that is, a large blueshift of the resonance wavelength induced by a small change in refractive index of the surrounding liquid.
