Abstract

We demonstrate the three-dimensional (3D) position measurement of a gold nanoparticle held in optical tweezers in solution using an in-line low-coherence digital holographic microscope. A 100nm-gold nanoparticle had the axial movement of 4.5 nm in the standard deviation when the 300 mW laser beam was focused with a 1.25NA objective lens.
