Gain sideband splitting in dispersion oscillating fibers

Abstract

We analyze the modulation instability spectrum in a varying dispersion optical fiber as a function of the dispersion oscillation amplitude, and predict a novel sideband splitting into different sub-sidebands for relatively large dispersion oscillations.
