Abstract

Taking advantage of the surface field enhancement of graphene films, microfibers and graphene films are combined to form novel hybrid waveguides and highly sensitive gas sensors, for the first time. Sub-ppm sensitivity for gas molecular detection is achieved. Such a microstructure fiber-optic gas sensors with fast response could be used for trace detection.
