Control of Stokes waves in a Brillouin-erbium highly-nonlinear-fiber laser

Abstract

We experimentally and theoretically investigate how to control Stokes waves generated by stimulated Brillouin scattering. A proper change of two pump powers results in increasing the number of Stokes waves, useful for sensitivity enhancement of distributed sensors.
