Abstract

The Fabry-Perot FP cavity length has been modified using different nanometric films at the mirror end of the FP system. The cavity length effects on the interferometric response of the system was studied by splicing a small piece of PM-PCF fiber with SMF-28 connected to a laser broadband source centered at 1550 nm. The changing nanometric dimensions of the FP cavity introduced a monotonically increasing phase shift in the interference spectrum, which has been correlated to various optical parameters of the system.
