Tunable quantum-cascade laser pumped molecular lasers for terahertz imaging

Abstract

We demonstrate a new class of optically pumped far-infrared lasers using quantum cascade lasers as the pump. Following an initial demonstration using nitrous oxide, we show how we can generate light at THz frequencies using different gases.
