Fiber-Optic Temperature Sensor for Bleed Air Leak Detection with cm-Scale Spatial Resolution

Abstract

A new fiber-optic tystem for bleed air leak detection in aircraft is presented. It has the capability to detect 2.5 cm long hot-spots on a 50 m long densely spaced FBG fiber within a measurement time of 100 ms.
