Analysis of microfiber structures and performances for fabricating multimode interference sensors

Abstract

We investigated microfiber characteristics for use in multimode interference sensors, revealing that the shortest waist length in the tapered region needs to be increased. Our fabricated sensor can measure the refractive index of aqueous solutions.
