Underwater seismic tomography with unprecedented resolution using fiber optics

Abstract

Distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) using existing underwater optical fiber cables may provide a new way of mapping the deep Earth's interior in these scenarios. It can also lead to a better understanding of infragravity waves.
