Fast Magnetic Field Sensing Utilizing Magnetic Fluid as the Cladding of Infiltrated Photonic Crystal Fiber

Abstract

A photonic crystal fiber infiltrated with magnetic fluid is proposed for measuring magnetic field in harsh and hard to reach places. Experimental results indicated a fast response and showed a good fit with simulations.
