Abstract

In this article, we analytically calculated the dispersion relation of some metal/insulator interface structures, and explains the results. For IMI geometry, we demonstrate that there exists two modes, even mode and odd mode, and the odd mode is the fundamental mode, which does not show a cut-off as the thickness vanishes. For MIM geometry, the results show some unusual regularities, and the reason remains to be given.
