Abstract

With the ever-increasing needs of high power diode laser source, it is important to obtain symmetric diode laser beam with high power. Kaleidoscope can be used in semiconductor lasers system shape the beam. The optics simulation is done based on ZEMAX. The simulation results indicate that the intensity repartition at the output of octagonal kaleidoscope are better than square kaleidoscope, hexadecagon kaleidoscope etc. Diode laser with improved beam-quality can be applied as the pumping source in high-power disk lasers.
