Dependence of Thermal Coupling on the Unit Spacing of VCSEL Arrays

Abstract

Thermal coupling dependence on the unit spacing of VCSEL array is investigated through simulating temperature distribution by COMSOL. We show that to improve thermal coupling of VCSEL arrays and obtain better performance, the unit spacing is at least one point five times the active diameter.
