Towards generation of mJ terahertz radiation in lithium niobate crystals via cryogenically cooling

Abstract

We study the effect of crystal temperature on terahertz generation efficiency and output spectrum by single-shot waveform measurements, and observe enhanced optical-to-terahertz efficiency and broadened spectrum after cryogenically cooling the crystal.
