Smart Technologies for Cancer Prevention at the Community Health Level

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

This talk will focus on a patient centric technology for cervical cancer screening in low and middle income countries. The point of care tampon (POCkeT) colposcope reimagines a gynecologic exam by consolidating a traditional colposcope into the form factor of a tampon. The colposcope not only provides comparable image quality to a colposcope, but is battery operated and uses consumer products. This technology can also be adapted for speculum free gynecologic exams.
