Abstract

We will present a time-domain imaging Raman spectroscopy system and demonstrate its ability to increase the signal-to-background ratio (SBR) in bands associated with ubiquitous tissue molecular bonds including bonds associated with the Amide I-III bands and the peak associated with phenylalanine. A detailed SBR analysis will also be presented to motivate the development and clinical translation of time-domain approaches based on a large in-human Raman spectroscopy dataset including spectra from multiple organs (brain, lung, breast, prostate, ovaries, uterus and spine) and biofluids (blood, saliva, urine).
