Abstract

State of the art commercial fiber-optic systems transmit data at an aggregate rate of several 100 Gb/s on an optical fiber. Such systems employ multiple 10 Gb/s time division multiplexed (TDM) channels in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) configuration, which utilizes the available bandwidth of the fiber.
