Abstract

All-optical signal processing using highly-nonlinear dispersion-shifted fibers (HNL-DSFs) are described. Simultaneous wavelength conversion of 32×10 Gb/s WDM signal by four-wave mixing, simultaneous recovery of 20×20 GHz WDM optical clocks and effective pulse compression for 0.3 ps pulse generation by supercontinuum generation are successfully demonstrated.
