Phase effects in the interaction of short optical pulses with THz-field driven quantum wells

Abstract

The interaction of a short optical pulse with a THz-field driven quantum well depends on the phase of the THz field at the moment the optical pulse arrives. We discuss how this dependence may appear in spectroscopic experiments and how to relate the data obtained using short optical pulses to the cw optical properties of THz-driven quantum wells.
