Abstract

We have used ultrafast spectroscopic measurements of gain spectra in self-organized quantum dots to measure directly the transparency condition at different temperatures and wavelengths. The results provide insight into the energy-dependent density-of-states and carrier thermalization in high-speed quantum-dot lasers.
