Femtosecond Time Resolved Multiphoton Ionization: Techniques and Applications

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Ionization spectroscopies have long been known to be extremely sensitive methods for detecting small number densities of molecular or atomic species. In this paper we report the extension of a well known pulsed laser technique into the 10−13 sec time regime. The utility of this method is demonstrated by time resolved studies on cis-stilbene, benzene and toluene.
