Energy Dynamics in a Small Subunit of a Phycobilin Studied by Picosecond Fluorescence Kinetics

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The fluorescence dynamics of the x subunit of phycoerythrin from Nostoc sp were measured. The decay profiles were fit to a model where both chromophores absorb and fluoresce. Exciton annihilation was shown to be absent by analysis of transmission and quantum yield data.
