Intermolecuiar Dynamics in Liquids on the Subpicosecond Time Scale

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The polarizability associated with molecular collisions causes symmetry forbidden spectra to appear in liquids and also changes the shape of the allowed bands. Molecular encounters have been studied in the frequency domain, and the implications to time domain studies are considered.
