Abstract
Nile blue has been extensively studied in picosecond and femtosecond laser spectroscopy and several ultrafast relaxation features have been reported in solution and polymer host by using femtosecond laser pulses [1,2,3]. However, within our knowledge, optical dephasing of zero-phonon line (ZPL) in Nile blue has not been studied. In this paper, we report picosecond optical dephasing of ZPL in Nile blue doped polyvinylalcohol(PVOH) polymer him at low temperature measured with incoherent photon echo technique , and the inhomogeneous distribution of ZPL. We also show the presence of femtosecond dephasing at the top of absorption.
