Abstract

Intermolecular dynamics in liquids that occur on the sub-500 fs timescale axe determined primarily by the details of the intermolecular potentials. Such dynamics traditionally have been investigated with frequency-domain techniques, such as spontaneous light scattering (LS) spectroscopy. Frequency-domain techniques, however, have provided only limited information on the intermolecular vibrational dynamics of liquid systems.
