Abstract

Two push-pull, linear diphenyl-polyenes, 4-dimethylamino-4 -cyano-1,6-diphenylhexatriene (DCDPH) and 4-dimethylamino-4-cyano-1,8-diphenyloctatetraene, (DCDPO) compounds with large charge transfer character, have been studied. Up to three time-resolved emission bands of these compounds were seen, depending on temperature, solvant polarity, concentration and intensity excitation, as is shown in figure 1 and 2. These spectra were obtained with apparatus described elsewhere (1).
