Abstract

The optical properties of magnetoexcitons (ME) have been of a topic of considerable interest, in particular, there have recently been several studies of the transient response using ultrashort pulses [1,2]. We present the results of experiments in which multiple ME states are coherently excited using a 40 fs pulse, creating a ME-wavepacket. These represents the first such observations as previous studies were either for incoherent excitation [1] or excited only a single ME state [2].
