Abstract
In this paper, we present new experimental results on the generation of ultrafast third (266nm), fifth (160nm), and seventh (114nm) harmonic light in gases. Useful conversion efficiencies are observed, and the efficiency can be optimized by adjusting the chirp of the input pulse. In addition, the pulse duration of the third harmonic is measured at under 16fs, using the technique of self-diffraction frequency resolved optical gating.
