Femtosecond Pulse Propagation in Optical Fibers

Abstract

Femtosecond pulse propagation at 1.55 µm through a 90-meter link of single-mode optical fiber is analyzed. Observation and characterization of pulse evolution as a function of energy, distance, soliton formation and soliton self-frequency shift are shown.
