Unbalanced Third Order Correlations for Characterizing the Intensity and Phase of Femtosecond Pulses

Abstract

We show that the intensity and phase of femtosecond pulses can be retrieved from third order cross-correlations and the pulse spectrum. Ambiguities in the direction of time are resolved with an unbalanced correlator.
