Time dependent 2D Fourier transform spectra reveal femtosecond solvent dynamics

Abstract

Femtosecond 2D Fourier transform spectra simultaneously provide time resolution and two dimensions (excitation, signal) of frequency resolution limited only by the sample. 2D spectra of IR144 in methanol provide an undistorted view of ultrafast solvation.
