A mid-infrared photon echo study of liquid water

Abstract

We present the first mid-infrared photon echo study of HOD/D2O, demonstrating that spectral diffusion occurs on many time scales. Fluctuations of local structure of the hydrogen bond network are relatively long lived (5–15 ps).
