Observation of a hysteretic pseudogap behavior via coherent phonons in high temperature superconductors

Abstract

We investigate ultrafast reflectivity changes of a near-optimally doped YBCO (123) superconductor. Coherently excited phonons reveal a pseudogap regime above Tc with two crossover temperatures which exhibit a clear hysteretic behavior as a function of temperature.
