Abstract

We study experimentally the ultrafast dynamics of light transmission through plasmonic 2D-and 1D-nanocrystals. Two interfering transmission channels are identified: ultrafast non-resonant transmission due to photon tunneling, and time-delayed resonant re-emission of surface plasmons.
