Time-resolved mid-infrared spectroscopy of excitons in Cu2O

Abstract

Formation and thermalization dynamics of the yellow series excitons in Cu2O are observed by monitoring the 1s to 2p Lyman transition with femtosecond mid-infrared transient absorption spectroscopy. We discover fast and efficient generation of paraexcitons.
