Abstract

Pulsewidth, time-bandwidth product and timing jitter have been measured in passively mode-locked two-section InAs quantum-dot lasers emitting at 1310 nm in different operating conditions. Two distinct stable mode-locked regions have been identified, each with robust short pulses and low timing jitter.
