Investigation of Plume Dynamics with Ultrafast Hard X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy

Abstract

Results on plume dynamics of pulsed laser ablation of metal thin films in helium at ambient pressure studied with ultrafast hard x-ray absorption spectroscopy/imaging are presented. The x-ray absorbing plume propagated at 4×102 m/sec.
