Abstract

Phase-locked pump-probe measurement is implemented with carrier-envelope phasecontrolled pulses, and direct distinction between phase-shift and time-delay is demonstrated. The carrier-envelope phase is a new controllable parameter in phase-coherent experiments, which enables, e.p., optical phase cycling.
