Ultrafast order parameter melting in a 2D Charge Density Wave 1T-TaS2 probed by femtosecond electron diffraction

Abstract

We present the first study of the order parameter dynamics in a Charge-Density-Wave system utilizing femtosecond electron diffraction. The results reveal an ultrafast suppression of the CDW order, whose recovery proceeds on the picosecond timescale.
