Excitation-Energy Dependence of Ultrafast Electron Injection from a Model Carotenoid

Abstract

Energy-dependent excitation to the second excited state of β-apo-8′-carotenoic acid bound to an electron-accepting nanoparticle reveals a second decay pathway allowing electron injection into basic nanoparticles from a lower-energy state available only under high-energy excitation.
