Femtosecond demagnetization of ferromagnetic metal: cooperative precession of delocalized spins

Abstract

A microscopic model of coherent Elliot-Yafet phonon inducing the delocalized spin precession is proposed to drive a cooperative femtosecond quenching of the magnetization in ferrromagnetic metal, beyond the phenomenological temperature model.
