Abstract

We demonstrate spectrally resolved transient grating spectroscopy in the extreme ultraviolet near the M-edge of vanadium dioxide. Time-dependent measurements of the ultrafast photo-induced insulator-to-metal transition disentangle pure electronic response from electron-phonon coupling and thermal effects.
