Ultrafast photoinduced mechanical distortion of carbon nanotubes via electronic excitation

Abstract

Using ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy combined with a time-partitioning Fourier transform, we demonstrate transient mechanical distortion of Single-wall carbon nanotubes by photoexcitation assisted by protein adsorption.
