Abstract

The wearing properties of progressive addition lenses (PAL's) are determined by the sum of a number of evaluation criteria: the visual acuity which can be achieved when looking through different points in the lens, the way the transitions into the periphery are designed and their effect on the wearer's behavior when moving the eyes, the distortion, the course of the power increase and the binocular differences in R/L conjugate points.
