Abstract
The visual performance of progressive addition lenses (PAL’s) is commonly described by calculation tools which do not include the pupil size as a parameter. In order to overcome this, the relative optical performance (ROP) was introduced [1, 2]. The ROP can be used for a qualitative and quantitative analysis as well as for a general characterization of different PAL designs.
