Abstract

To overcome the limiting constraints on output powers placed by stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) and stimulated Brilluoin scattering (SBS), new fiber designs and techniques are presented [1], Fiber laser induced solid-state cooling [2-3] is another research area that is limited by many material problems, such as phonon assisted thermalisation and relaxation. In order to increase the cooling efficiency, novel structures must be implemented not only to address these issues, but to enhance cooling with designs that are practical.
