An Efficient, High Power, Monolithic, Single Mode Thulium Fibre Laser

Abstract

We present a monolithic single mode thulium fibre laser with 185 W output power at 1950 nm and wall-plug efficiency of >22%. We discuss the suitability of such sources over thulium amplifiers for pumping holmium fibre lasers.
