Liquid-Crystal-Based Visible-Light Integrated Optical Phased Arrays

Liquid-crystal-based integrated optical phased arrays are proposed and experimentally demonstrated for the first time as a method for low-power and compact visible-light beam steering. Beam steering of 10.5° within ±3.5V at a 632.8nm wavelength is shown.
