Abstract
Coherent optics is being re-designed to future proof access networks using point-to-point and point-to-multi-point systems. Coherent optics’ higher speeds and link budgets provide significant deployment flexibility. Here, its access optimized components, coherent access architectures, operations, and service implication benefits are discussed.
